FAQ

How much does the service cost?

What Wins provides two information services, Selections provides basic advice, and EDGE offers more detailed information. Selections may be free at your local track, or you can download it for $1.99 per track per day. EDGE is priced at $9.95 per track per day, and you receive Selections for free with your purchase of EDGE.

What is the best way to get started with betting on harness races?

If you can get out to a racing track, that is really the best way to get oriented to the dynamics of the sport. At the track, you may have easy access to the What Wins Selections to support a few basic wagers. You can also start on the What Wins website (http://www.whatwins.com) to learn about the sport, including how to bet with Selections.

As you win more bets and get more familiar with racing data, you will learn to appreciate the value of the EDGE product. Then you will be ready to buy a few daily sheets and place a few well-informed wagers.

How do What Wins products tip the odds in my favour?

Our products use computers and artificial intelligence to analyze over 200 factors for the horses, drivers, and track in each race. From this huge mass of data, the products identify the true odds of winning for each horse, and present you with a lot of related advice on the best bets for each race and each day. So you have expert advice for your wagers, making safe bets safer, and long shots less risky

The key to making profitable bets is understanding and identifying value, which resides in those bets where the payout is larger than the probabilities would indicate.

How does What Wins account for last minute changes that affect the outcome of the race?

The current What Wins products, EDGE and Selections, are built and available at least 12 hours prior to the start of the races. As such they incorporate the best information available at that time and do not account for last minute changes within the race.

The most critical last minute change that can affect the race outcome is of course the scratch of a horse. In the event of a scratch What Wins suggests:

What Wins EDGE provides plays for both Fast and Off tracks. It is well known that inclement weather is a great equalizer thus the off track plays provide some very exciting longshot opportunities.

Why is What Wins only focused on harness racing?

Our philosophy as a company stems from the learnings of the founder as an entrepreneur and a gambler, that is - focus on what you know. What Wins will prove itself by delivering great results and returns to our patrons within the North American harness racing industry prior to expanding into thoroughbreds and other types of racing.

Is there a mobile application for What Wins?

What Wins is currently prototyping the technology necessary to make a mobile application useful. Once completed we will begin the development of a mobile application that will equip our patrons by:

  1. Incorporating and providing notification of late changes that effect the outcome of a race.
  2. Identifying value opportunities based on real-time changes in the payouts.
  3. Providing a simple "build a ticket" interface incorporating What Wins knowledge.

What Wins intends to integrate the products with racetracks and wagering sites allowing the patron the choice of betting at the window or submitting the ticket directly.

Are any traditional handicappers using your product?

The vast majority of our subscription base is traditional handicappers. They are the best early adopters as they can verify the products work, understand the benefits, and spread the word. Ultimately, as our reputation grows our marketing campaigns will shift to a new younger demographic currently involved in other types of online gaming.

If you are new to racing, head to your local track. At the information counter or in the race program the track will provide instruction on how to place a bet. Alternatively the teller at any of the betting windows would be more then happy to assist you.

If you have seen the strong results of What Wins and are ready to begin betting online you will need to set up an account at an Advance Deposit Wagering site (ADW). In Canada the site is HorsePlayer Interactive, in the US there are several alternatives. Of course we suggest you select a site with What Wins products fully integrated.

Do you use your product?

Yes. I began developing the artificial intelligence engine seven years ago in order to gain an advantage in wagering harness racing. As an avid participant in the sport I know what the customer needs and will continue to develop product accordingly.
